Hinterland is lucky to announce the first offering by sandboy and nanar. The "night song" ep includes the original version, two remixes created by Osunlade and a remix by J.J Webster, a very special package covering a wide range of heartfelt and well-crafted music.

Christoph Flueler from Zurich/Switzerland got up at the crack of dawn to drive to Zwieselried for his recordings of trombone, trumpet and flugelhorn at the hinterland studio. He added more wonderful brass sections on "night song" and enriched the playback of another song we are currently working on with his elegant brass lines.

Again we’re in high spirits at hinterland as we just picked up great news from our mail account: Osunlade will delight us with his take on "night song"! It will be part of the first 12" of sandboy and nanar in the beginning of 2007.

We are blessed as J.J Webster, one of the three founders of Break Reform and Abstract Blue Recordings has offered us to remix "night song". We are anxious to hear his version of this tune!

The hinterland label is proud to announce that the forthcoming sandboy album will be featuring Nanar Vorperian as singer and songwriter. Tobias has already had the enjoyment of working with her on two songs for sandboy’s debut album "wanderlust". The heart-warming yet delicate texture of her voice can be witnessed on "written in the leaves" and "pomegranate", but most of her deeply authentic songwiriting and singing has become known in conjunction with the London based formation Break Reform. Sandboy is currrently preparing the playbacks, for which drummer Thomas Simmerl and bass player Sebastian Zimmermann have already put down a number of enticing tracks. Everybody here in Zwieselried is looking forward to once again welcoming Nanar in the hinterland studio and we are all feeling excited about the creative process of "sandboy and nanar"! We’ll keep you posted, sure enough…

Out soon on hinterland: sandboy’s second album "echoes". A double angle sound journey in the poetic world of sandboy by the artist himself but also from the perspective of some like-minded funkateers such as butti49, volcov, gerd, break reform, smiles ahead and leroy schlimm. Look out for a sound journey of its own kind to be released on the 4th of october.

We had a great time with lovely Clara Hill who left Berlin to record two songs at the hinterland studio: "endlessly" which will be part of her second album and "common cause" which will soon hit the streets on another sandboy 12" featuring Clara Hill and Randolph Matthews.

The next full-length release on hinterland will be a sandboy album with remixes of sandboy’s debut album (featuring butti 49, volcov, break reform, gerd, smiles ahead, leroy schlimm, season). It will also include two remixes sandboy has done for Plastyc Buddha and Gerd feat. Vanessa Freeman.
Furthermore two new sandboy originals will add to this colourfull release: one featuring Clara Hill (Sonar Kollektiv) and another Randolph Matthews (Low Budget Soul/Abstract Blue) on vocals.

In consequence of this bitter experience we will take care of our export business ourselves. In the pipeline for hinterland records are two remixes of Leroy Schlimm who has just proofed his talent with his first release "The Play EP". His version of "lua nua" toughens the groove up for the dance floor adding a strong acoustic bass and tasty guitar licks. It will hit the streets on a 12" early 2005.
Leroy’s remarkable reinterpretation of "les éclairs" is a finely crafted tune where the vocals of Marianne Kirch are tastefully surrounded by beautifully arranged harmonies played by the man himself on the guitar. It will be part of the upcoming sandboy album in spring 2005.

Sebastian Zimmerman stayed another two prolific days in sandboy’s studio finally revealing the miracle of his red bass... You’ll be able to judge yourself on the new sandboy song featuring Clara Hill.

Sandboy is looking forward to collaborate with Clara Hill (Sonar Kollektiv) on new songs for her next album as well as on a new sandboy song which will appear on the forthcoming album in spring 2005.

SUB- from Brussels will support all future sandboy DJ-sets with visuals based on shootings around the home of sandboy. Thomas Lommee is the man behind the camera and turning the nobs. He has spent a weekend in Zwieselried collecting pictures which he then transferred into fascinating abstract patterns matching perfectly sandboy’s music.
